hi!
I am Dr. Glenna.
I offer therapy for high-functioning black women who are ready to live the reality that
Therapy is a Lifestyle!
Currently welcoming new therapy clients in California
You don’t have to carry everything on your own.
Many of the women I work with are thoughtful, high-achieving, and deeply responsible — often the ones others rely on. Outwardly, life may look stable or even successful, but internally there can be anxiety, emotional exhaustion, or a quiet sense of disconnection that’s hard to name.
If you’ve been telling yourself “I should be able to handle this,” you’re not alone — and you’re not failing. Therapy can be a space where you’re allowed to pause, breathe, and be honest about what you’re carrying.

You may find yourself here if you:
-
Feel anxious, overwhelmed, or mentally tired more often than you let on
-
Struggle to rest or slow down without guilt
-
Have experienced emotional abuse or unhealthy relationship dynamics
-
Feel responsible for holding things together, even when you’re exhausted
-
Want support that understands both your emotional world and your lived experience as a Black woman

A gentle, trauma-informed approach that honors your pace
My work is relational, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. I take time to understand your story, your nervous system, and what safety means to you — not just what you’re coping with on the surface.

I am a trained EMDR therapist, which means I help clients work through distressing experiences in a way that supports the brain and body’s natural ability to heal. EMDR can be especially helpful for individuals who feel “stuck,” emotionally reactive, or exhausted from overthinking their past or relationships.

For many high-functioning women, EMDR offers a way to process experiences without having to relive or over-explain them, allowing space for relief, clarity, and emotional grounding.
Our work together is paced, collaborative, and rooted in compassion.
Therapy Is A Lifestyle is the idea of addressing your mental health before it becomes mental illness. It is the intentional practice of addressing five major life areas to guide your wellness and mental health journey.
I help clients evaluate their lives holistically — not just their symptoms.
Together, we explore how your well-being is shaped within these areas:

-
Relational health – the quality of your relationships, boundaries, and emotional safety
-
Mental health – anxiety, stress, thought patterns, and emotional regulation
-
Financial health – the emotional impact of money, stability, and responsibility
-
Spiritual health – meaning, values, grounding, and connection
-
Physical health – rest, energy, and how stress lives in the body

When these areas are out of balance, anxiety and exhaustion often follow — even when life looks “fine” on the outside.

This approach ensures you don't wait for a major crisis to occur before taking action. You live with the idea: Therapy Is A Lifestyle

WHAT THERAPY CAN SUPPORT
In therapy, we may focus on:
-
Reducing anxiety and emotional overwhelm
-
Processing the impact of emotional abuse and relational trauma
-
Increasing emotional regulation and a sense of safety
-
Understanding patterns shaped by early experiences
-
Reconnecting with yourself in a more grounded, sustainable way
There is no expectation to have it all figured out before you begin.
Working With Me
I offer individual therapy for adults residing in California. Sessions are a space to slow down, reflect, and build insight — without pressure to perform or be “strong.”

If you’re curious about therapy or wondering if this might be a good fit, you’re invited to request to work with me.
